Tri-Coastal Design operates under a different mandate than most other wholesale manufacturing firms. Rather than cut corners on product design, we hire vision and initiative in our design department—creators who can help Tri-Coastal ride the crest of the fashion wave.

We staff the best design team because we invest in what we believe. Our factories manufacture the products we regard as the most fashion-forward in the industry. It’s our job to fill our clients’ shelves with items that fill their stores with customers. Simply put, Tri-Coastal designers stand alone in making the best original products in the industry, bar none. But we also enjoy working with our clients to make something new.

The Manhattan office is often packed with buyers, large and small, collaborating with our designers to create a new product. Client requests can be as open-ended as “create a new line of belts based on this swatch,” or as detailed as a blueprint for a purse with exact measurements, components, and delivery dates. Whatever the case may be, our design team facilitates, advises, and always meets the deadline. And when we give offer feedback, we do so knowing our designers are on the cutting edge of their specializations.

To that end, Tri-Coastal’s design teams scour the world in relentless pursuit of “the next thing.” We can’t sit back and hope the trends won’t change; they inevitably, unceasingly will. Prowling local malls and haunting busy superstores, our teams carefully monitor the items flying off the shelves. Take a tour of our offices and you’ll find a design department littered with magazine clippings, pieces of cloth, photographs and snapshots of colors, shapes, flora, fauna—anything that inspires or seizes a wandering eye.

If your daughter’s favorite teen idol is wearing a sequined scarf on Monday, our factories might be producing a similar scarf by Wednesday. We’re always on the look for the hot and cold colors for the season, and always searching for the hidden connections—a material, an ornament, a shade or a tone that draws the eye and begs to be purchased.

Our design teams make it their business to stay out front of the fads, filling our showrooms with next season’s best-sellers. When our clients’ shelves are waiting to be emptied when the demand hits, we know our designers have succeeded.
